Lowell Girls S.S. Promoters

W. L. Basajjanaku: A Ugandan with a Bachelor of Education Degree from Makerere University. He is a former headmaster of Gombe S.S.S. and Kololo S.S.S. He is currently the Chairman of The Teaching servince Commission of Uganda.

A. Lubega: a Ugandan with with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Makerere University. She is a teacher by profession and serves on a number of management committees of schools including Hassan Tourabi S.S.S., St. Peters Nsabya S.S.S., Namilyango College, Ourlady Gayaza S.S.S., Wagwa Memorial Primary School and others.

Those who work here are very committed to making Lowell a very special place where girls' can become part of a strong and supportive community, dedicated to bringing out their talents both in and outside the classroom.

Sometimes parents of prospective pupils ask what I view as distinctive about Lowell Girls'. Part of my reply is always to say the quality of the relationships which exist between teachers and students because I believe that to be the heart of good education.

The school's motto "Truth and Excellence Prevails" is adopted by the school because of its essential meaning for life.

Truth, reality and knowledge of the better things liberated the mind, opens new horizons, alleviates fear and contributes to a capacity to live life in a full and meaningful way. And in excel­ lence we look at the quality of being extremely good especially in both discipline and academics.

LOCATION:

Lowell Girls is situated in beautiful countryside, on a beautiful hill over looking Nsimbe Estates, 21 Km along Masaka Road .

The foundation of the school is strongly reflected in its CUlTent ethos. At Lowell , we believe that everyone is born equal and that the intelli­gence level in those decent members of society that we produce varies considerably. If your daughter is dedicated, ambitious, prepared to work hard and achieve, then we commit ourselves to handle the ability as­pect. It will be a pleasure to welcome her. We see Lowell as an envi­ronment where education and growing up can be fun for everyone. Our students are encouraged to do and chi eve their best. in an atmosphere of enthusiasm, enjoyment and security as opposed to being placed un­der severe pressure and undue stress. In addition to this, we see the development of the person as being equally as important as their edu­cation and see the need for preparing the child for the modern world. We shall have preserved Class sizes so that our students can be indi­vidually nurtured.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:

Lowell Girls' offers a wide range of Extra-Curricular Activities. We see these activities as being essential to the process of broadening the mind and developing the character. Besides offering relaxation from the intensive academic work. Top of the list is the LOWELL PART­NERS AWARD SCHEME which provides the student' with a convinc­ing programme of commitment to better themselves and to serve oth­ers while earning their award.

Other notable activities include: Basketball, Tennis, Volleyball, Dance and Dramma.

CONTACT WITH PARENTS: 

The best education relies on a good relationship not only between the school and its students but also with parents. We alwayswe1come par­ents to support school events and activities, and there will be a parents' organisation "The friends of Lowell ." Information abouta students' Meetings.
